General Commissions on Vocations Promotion and Formation
The General Commissions on Vocations Promotion and Formation met in Rome at the General Curia on 9-10 October, 2017, attended by Brother Benigno Ramos (Commission president), Brother André Sène (secretary), Brother Luis Marzo (Europe), Brother Dairon Meneses (Latin America), Brother Etienne Sène (Africa) standing in for Brother Nicolas N’sale, and Brother Timothy Graham (Asia Pacific).
The Brothers reported on the activities being carried out in the different regions in the field of vocations and formation: Europe, Africa, Latin America and Asia-Pacific. They then took stock of the work done in the regions for the Week of Prayer for Vocations, which is celebrated every year in the universal Church. This was followed by a reflection on how to disseminate and share the work being carried out in the Provinces on the General Curia website, and a number of important dates were announced, such as the Synod of Bishops (Rome, October 2018) on the theme of Young People, and World Youth Day in Panama in 2019. The Commission will be studying how young people in the Order can take part of both these events and how to put the proposals to the Provinces.
