From 23 April to 25 May, Brother Benigno Ramos Rodríguez conducted the General Canonical Visitation to the Province of St John of Avila (Southern South American Province), which comprises the Centres and Communities of Argentina, Bolivia and Chile, making it possible for personal and group meetings to be held with the communities, guests, Centres’ teams and Commissions on Pastoral Care and Bioethics, and Volunteers and friends of the Order.
The Visitation was closed at the Casa de Espiritualidad de María Auxiliadora (San Miguel, Argentina) under the presidency of Brother Jesús Etayo Arrondo, the Superior General, on 23 to 25 May, attended by all the Superiors and the Directors/Co-workers of the Centres and the General Curia, with time set aside for work, reflection and evaluation by the group of Brothers and Co-workers working together.
On Thursday 25th, the day of the closure, Mass was celebrated at the Hospital San Juan de Dios de Ramos Mejia, with Brother Jesús Etayo presiding, assisted by Brother Benigno Ramos and the Bishop of San Martín, of Korean origin, at which a special event for the Hospitaller Order and for the Church was celebrated: the solemn Profession of Brother Lucio Pak, who was born in Korea, accompanied by the Brothers of the nearby Communities in the Province and others who had come for the occasion from Korea, Ireland, Peru and Sisters, priests and friends, and a large group of representatives of the Korean community in the Buenos Aires Province.
